Terrific, and a lot better than I remembered it to be.

I bought this CD to replace a tape that I bought in the early 1980s. I know I liked the music when I first heard it, but I had no idea it would be as good as it is when hearing it again 25 years later. Pia can really sing! The music is a must-have for anyone who enjoys the great standards sung in big band (big orchestra) fashion.

Shockingly brilliant!

I was expecting very little entertainment value from this album when I first heard it. It left me breathless, speechless, and absolutely stunned. I never dreamed that this little starlet would have such a magnificent instrument. I found myself listening to this album over and over, each time finding something wonderful that I hadn't noticed before. It is now 25 years later and I am still entranced by Pia's beautiful voice and her vocal stylings. She should have been a HUGE singing sensation.

CLASSIC PIA

Pia sings classic standards with the London Philarmonic Orchestra and she does it well. Otherwise they would not play with her. She sings "I am what I am", "All of me" and "The lady is a tramp". Absolutely convincing

A honest-to-goodness belter who can carry it off.

Mention Pia Zadora, and you still may get some snorts and snickers because of her spotted cinema career. But as many people have learned to their surprise, this lady can really belt out a song in the tradition of Judy Garland and Liza Minelli. I recently came across a music commentator who described this approach as the Vaudeville tradition. Whatever you want to call it, this is a fine collection of fifteen songs by the immortals such as Gershwin, Styne, Cahn, Ellington, Herman, and Rodgers and Hart. Backed up by the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the great Robert Farnon (who did a simarly fine job on a Sinatra album), Ms. Zadora delivers one classic song after another. Albums like this aren't made anyomore; so I encourage you to get a copy before it is once again out of print.
